Abia APC Chairman Commends Stakeholders, Says APC is Party of Choice

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abia state Chapter, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu has recognised and commended the incredible contributions of stakeholders in repositioning the party in the state.

Dr Ononogbu gave the commendation while speaking during the APC South East Stakeholder’s Meeting in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital on Saturday.

To buttress his point, the state party chairman, Dr Ononogbu noted that the stakeholders were working assiduously hard to promote and strengthen areas of common interest thereby making the party very formidable and enticing to members of other political parties.

He emphasized that about 40% of the PDP leadership has since dumped their party in favour of the ruling federal government political party

The political leader further explained how the last zonal meeting in April at Owerri helped to dissipate its various structures that were loyal to different stakeholders stressing that the laudable move made APC, a party of choice in Abia State.

He said this:

“It is my utmost pleasure to report that the Abia State APC is very strong today. There is unity amongst our members and stakeholders. I also want to use this opportunity to thank our leaders and recognize their individual determination and efforts in working assiduously and bringing almost all stakeholders to the table and focusing on our collective common interest in strengthening the party to become even stronger, moving forward.

“Arising from a number of very intense discussions on the way forward and engagements amongst the critical stakeholders after our last zonal meeting in April at Owerri, the various individual structures of our key stakeholders and leaders are now working together as a team under the State EXCO, which have culminated into our calling for an enlarged Caucus/Stakeholders meeting on July 27th at the party office.

“Given the successes recorded in the last two months, the meeting would have been called earlier if not for the sudden death of our State Organizing Secretary whose burial date has been fixed for July 26th and due to which we fixed the Caucus meeting a day after, as a mark of respect.

“Again, given that almost all the previously suspended members of the party have now shown remarkable remorse, review of such suspensions will be an agenda in the forthcoming meeting in order to consolidate on the gains already recorded.

“Politically, APC is the party of choice in Abia State today. It is also exciting to note that about 40% of the leadership of PDP in Abia State that resigned their membership of that party, have all decamped in mass to APC. We received them across the 17 local governments with open hands. Several others have joined from other parties. Indeed, we are marching on with great confidence. We shall not discriminate against our new members, now or in future. We are one family. However, let me be clear that anyone who claims to have joined APC without registering in his ward and visiting the State Secretariat is on his/her own.

“Finally, I will not fail to recognize the resilience, effort and contribution of High Chief Ikechi Emenike, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Distinguished Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of State for labour and Employment and others for their leadership and encouragements towards a virile APC in Abia State.
