Abia State House of Assembly Roots For Solution To End Land Encroachment
Abia State House of Assembly today waded into the alleged farm land encroachment in Uzonta Azumili, Ukwa East Council Area by Akwa Ibom State Government with the view of finding a lasting solution to itThe plenary chaired by the speaker Emmanuel Emeruwa mandated its Committee on Boundary and Security Matters to liaise with the office of the Deputy Governor and Ministry of Local Government and chieftaincy affairs to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
This followed a matter of Urgent Public Importance presented by Hon. Lewis Obianyi representing Ukwa East constituency and prayed the House to intervene urgently.
The House also passed a resolution mandating the state Ministry of Women Affairs and the State Emergency Management Agency to bring succour to one Mr. Edwin Nwachukwu’s family and others whose property were gutted by fire in Umuahia
This was sequel to a motion presented by the Chief Whip and member representing Umuahia South constituency, Emeka Obioma.
