The Executive Chairman of Afikpo Council Area, Hon. Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam says he is confident of landslide victory at the forthcoming bye-election in Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone before midday.
Hon Ibiam who made this known during a telephone conversation noted that Governor Nwifuru’s administrative prowess and benevolence across board has given the All Progressives Congress (APC) a better chance to overwhelmingly win because the people are earnestly longing to reciprocate his magnanimity through the forthcoming poll.
The Local Government Chairman who described the APC Candidate, Professor Anthony Ani as an academia and politician of repute explained that his primary election was seamless unlike the turbulence that distorted the emergence of his supposed rivalries from other political parties who are currently facing legal skirmishes.
He also opined that the candidacy of Prof Ani would bring about massive employment into several federal establishments for job seekers as well attracted human oriented projects that would stimulate sporadic development of the zone in a shortest period of time.
The chief executive of Afikpo council area further hinted that aggressive campaign to avoid voter apathy is currently ongoing within his area of coverage. He also revealed that over two thousand people have been received into the ruling APC from the People’s Democratic Party, Labour party among others.
While speaking on the civility of the people of Afikpo Council Area over the years, Hon. Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam gave an assurance that the election would be free, fair, transparent and devoid of any form of crisis.
He said;
“I am absolutely confident that Prof Anthony Okorie Ani will win the election massively because of the good works of our amiable governor, His Excellency Right Honourable (Dr) Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. He has already made it an easy task hence the people are happy with our party the APC as well as our candidate.
“From the civil servants, government officials, artisans to the common people in the streets of Ebonyi State, His Excellency has changed their narrative and winning is a sure bet”.
“We are on grassroot sensitisation now just to let the rural dwellers know that something great is about to happen. Do you know that over 2,000 people have decamped from the PDP, Labour party among others to join the APC voluntarily? Are you also aware that other parties filed multiple candidates to represent them in the election”.
“Going by the antecedent of our candidate as an academia and politician of note, Ebonyi South people will understand what it means to have an experienced legislator at the national assembly”.
