Chief Whip Ebonyi State House of Assembly Visits State Owned Media House

…Commends Gov. Nwifuru for Revitalising the Outfit 

 

The Chief Whip of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Hon Nkemka Okoro Onumah has commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for revitalising the state owned media house know as Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation (EBBC).

Hon Onumah who is also the chairman House committee on information and represents the people of Edda West Constituency at the 7th session of the assembly made this known during an oversight function at the media outfit situated in Abakaliki, the state’s capital.

The state lawmaker, Hon Nkemka Okoro Onumah who expressed satisfaction at the level of work so far done to improve the services the establishment renders to the general public commended the ministry of information for observing due diligence and delivering as expected. Hon Onumah in the company of his colleagues pledged to assist the radio and television house to navigate some of its challenges.

The State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Hon Jude Chikadibia Okpor said the timely approval and release of funds for the rehabilitation of media house by the state government brought about the paradigm shift adding that the radio services covers the whole of South South, South East zones and parts of the Cameroon Republic.

Meanwhile the Director General of EBBC, Comrade Tony Nwizi listed some of the facilities that have been reactivated to include; all radio equipment stressing that efforts are onto gear to fix the television section which has reached an advanced stage.

While acknowledging the Governor’s proactive and pragmatic efforts towards the achievement, Comrade Nwizi enumerated some teething problems facing the radio station like shortage of funds, power supply and staff strength and solicited monthly subvention from the state government.

Other state lawmakers at the event including Hon. Victor Nwoke representing Abakaliki North Constituency, Hon. Esther Agwu from Ohaukwu North, Hon Chinyere Nwogbaga of Ebonyi North East , Hon Good luck Obinna Mbam from Izzi East and Hon Friday Ogbuewu representing Ezza South.
