It was all joy and happiness on 20th February when the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State, Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha celebrated his 53rd birthday with less privileged persons in their different facilities in Abakaliki, the state capital.
The cheerful celebrant, Emegha flanked by his beautiful wife Stella and a host of other friends visited four facilities namely Holy Innocents motherless babies Onuebonyi, Nigerian Red Cross Motherless babies, Nsugbu, Trinitarian Foundation For Orphans And Helpless Home, Ugwuachara and Saint Vincent De Paul, Old People’s and destitute Home, Alo Street, Kpirikpiri.
Although at each location, Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha donated bags of rice, beans, noodles, beverages, toiletries, undisclosed amount of money among other items, Trinitarian Foundation For Orphans And Helpless Home, Ugwuachara also received an additional brand new Sienna bus.
Apart from the donations, the celebrant, Chief Emegha said he felt more fulfilled interacting with the people as the gesture would assist them live better stressing that the act typifies the character of the state Governor, Right Honourable Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
This is not my first time l am reaching out to less privileged persons or their facilities. For me, humanitarian gestures of this kind should be a daily routine. I was moved to donate this Sienna Bus to the Trinitarian facility because of the plights of the children. When I saw them alighting from tricycle popularly known as Keke, I felt bad considering their terrain during the rains. It was a coincidence”.
“I was also told that the Keke does not come during the rains. That area is bad. They need a better life”.
- The caregiver of the facilities visited by the birthday celebrant, chief Emegha who were overwhelmed with gladness described him as a man of extraordinary abilities and prayed for divine blessings upon him and household.
Among the celebrant’s friends, the chairman Edda council area, Hon Prince Chima Ekumankama described the philanthropic gesture as unique and urged other well to do individuals to take a queue from it.
