Eid-el Kabir: Ebonyi APC Boss charges Muslims on Selfless Service
In commemoration of the 2024 -el Kabir celebration, the Ebonyi state chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha has charged the Muslims community to emulate the virtues of Ibrahim who showed willingness to obey the Allah’s command even when it was not convenient for him.
This admonition is contained in the chairman’s Eid message personally signed by him and made available to the press on Sunday.
He noted that the annual ritual should afford both the adherents of the Islamic faith and others opportunity to make merry with the needy and be more patriotic to the nation in the interest of peace and development.
The Eid message reads;
“I, Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ebonyi State, wish to join good spirited individuals especially our dear state Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, GGCEHF to heartily congratulate the Muslim’s community on this year’s Eid-el Kabir celebration.
“As Eid el Kabir marks the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah’s command, let this annual feast transcend beyond wining and dining among the adherents of the Islamic faith and others by rekindling the spirit of obedience, humility, hard work, selflessness and patriotism in all for the common good.
“Let the lessons of sacrifice and holiness epitomised by the Eid celebration reflect in people’s lifestyle in order to help stem the tides of evil tendencies such as killing, kidnapping, gangsterism and other corrupt practices to make the society more habitable, peaceful and progressive.
“Enwrapped in the euphoria of the moment, let us all join our brothers and sisters of the Islamic palace in offering special prayers for greater peace, unity, progress and development in our dear nation, Nigeria and as well Ebonyi State where religion means nothing but a mere English word.
“Above all I, therefore, charge people
across religions and ethnicities, genders and age groups to avail themselves of the privilege of Eid celebration to offer fervent and sincere prayers for our leaders that Allah would bless them with enormous wisdom to keep steering the ship of governance in the right direction for the betterment of humanity.
“Happy 2024 Eid celebration and may Allah bless us all”.
