Gov Nwifuru Empowers 95 Persons with ₦105M to Venture into Entrepreneurship
Sets up monitoring mechanism to ensure judicious use of funds
Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has empowered 95 persons with three million naira (₦3m) each to venture into different entrepreneurial skills of choice based on specialized training.
The beneficiaries who were drawn from the 13 council areas of the state underwent an intensive two-month training held in Agbani, Enugu State. The professional exposition covered different areas of agricultural production, processing and packaging as they relate to fishery, poultry, piggery farming, and business management skills.
The state commissioner for information and state orientation, Engr Jude Okpor revealed this to journalists after the Governor received the trainees at the State Executive Chamber, New Government House Centenary City, Abakaliki, under the aegis of the Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru Empowerment Programme (FONEP).
While commending the beneficiaries who formed the pilot batch for their dedication, resilience, commitment and steadfastness during the training period, he charged them to make judicious use of the fund to change their lives and also impact positively in the society.
Governor Nwifuru also reiterated the fact that the beneficiaries would be monitored to ensure proper utilisation of the fund totalling One Hundred and Five Million Naira (₦105,000,000).
There is no saying that if the beneficiaries would immediately ploy the knowledge and funds at their disposal to work, they will not just become independent but will create more job opportunities.
