Gov NWIFURU Increases Minimum Wage To 75k
In view of the 70,000 minimum wage, the federal government approved for Nigerian workers, Ebonyi State Governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has increased the benchmark to 75, 000 Naira for Civil Servants in the State.
Governor Nwifuru announced this shortly after a Holy Mass at Government House Chapel, Abakaliki on Sunday.
The Governor said the decision followed careful review of the current economic situation in the Country especially as it affects the workforce.
According to the Governor, the least paid Civil Servant on grade level 2 will enjoy full minimum wage of 75, 000 while from grade level 3 and above will get incremental of 40, 000 across board.
The Governor announced that implementation of the new minimum wage would commence on Monday October 28, 2024.
Governor Nwifuru also announced the appointment of General Managers to pilot affairs of two major Industries in the State.
The appointees include Dr. Obinna Ezenkwa, Umuoghara Pulverization Plant and Barrister Uchenna Otuh, Ezzamgbo Pipe Production Factory.
The Governor said the appointments were made bearing in mind the expertise of the appointees which are needful to drive the Industries.
While urging them to endeavor to bring their expertise to bear, Governor Nwifuru called on stakeholders to support the new General Managers to prosper the State through the Industries.
