Thousands of labour party faithful popularly known as ‘the obedients’ in Ebonyi State have denounced their membership and pledged unalloyed support to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).


At the party’s office in Abakaliki, the State capital, the defectors led by the founder of Obinna Uko foundation, Ambassador Obinna Uko revealed that they were compelled to join the party because of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has domesticated the dividends of democracy through multiple economic policies and infrastructural achievements.

The humanitarian and activist with strong influence both within and outside the shores of the nation, Ambassador Uko assured absolute loyalty and obedience to the party with a promise to deploy resources at his disposal in the best interest of the people.

Similarly, the Executive Director, Obinna Uko foundation, Fred Uko Abi eulogized the calculated and invincible efforts of Nwifuru’s led administration in reducing poverty especially the hawkers’ program where each person received two million Naira. He also acknowledged the peace in the party and the state at large.

Reacting, the APC chairman in Ebonyi State, Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha promised to give them a level playing field to operate effectively. He also charge them to be law-abiding while helping to fast track the people’s charter of needs agenda of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for a better state.

“I am happy to receive you into our formidable fold. We don’t isolate or quarantine people hence the party is yours. In fact let all Ebonyians join our party for more rapid and sustainable development because it is paramount for my Boss, His Excellency Right Honourable Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru”.

“As a charge, be disciplined in all you do. Always remember that it is discipline that distinguishes the Army hence it is the most respected institution in the whole world. You have to be decent and attend to people in a very civilised manner”.
