One Year Anniversary: Abia Legislator, Hon Nwachi Speaks on Stellar Achievements

….Pours Encomiums on Governor Otti for Relative Peace

The Member representing Umunneochi State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Mathias Ume has poured encomiums on Governor Alex Otti for his decisive actions that helped to curb the spate of insecurity which hitherto bedeviled his constituents.

Hon Ume popularly known as Hon Nwachi poured the encomiums during a media chat to commemorate his one year in office as a first term lawmaker in the state parliament in Umuahia.

While noting that Dr Alex Otti’s swift security response that birthed “Operation Crush” has stemmed the tide of incessant security breaches in his constituency and other parts of the state, Hon Nwachi also narrated how his colleagues led the speaker, Rt. Hon Emmanuel Emeruwa gave an accelerated hearing to his first motion immediately after the house was promulgated on 14th June, 2023.

He commended the leadership of the 8 session of the assembly for being resolute and forthright at carrying out the legislative business which have contributed to Governor Otti’s stellar achievements so far in the state.

“I knew the consequences of moving a motion aimed at curbing incessant security challenges especially the ones involving kidnapping and killings of innocent citizens but I summoned courage just to save my people and other road users.

“After presenting the document many people called to advise me not to take such a dangerous walk again but I knew that only God can save. When the governor proactively waded into the matter and brought an appreciable level of sanity and decorum at the zone among other parts of the state, people were extremely happy. I was very excited also because of the accelerated action the state house of Assembly led by the speaker, chief Emmanuel Emeruwa gave the motion. Today, there is relative peace and the people can sleep with their two eyes closed.

“It was that motion that further made the people’s Governor, Dr Alex Otti to immediately and among other security strategies launched the ‘operation crush initiative in the state”. Today, Umunneochi constituency and other parts in the state are relatively peaceful. His Excellency, the governor, truly deserves recognition and commendation from everyone irrespective of differences”.

Still giving account of his stewardship, Hon Nwachi hinted that he enrolled many indigent students for both Junior and Senior School Certificate Examinations, paid 4 years tuition fees for all the students of Peace Comprehensive Secondary School Isuochi and also offered N100,000 Bursary award to fifty undergraduates from Umunneochi State Constituency.

Beyond these interventions and many others, the state lawmaker, Hon Mathias Ume revealed that he has moved a motion for the rehabilitation of roads within his constituency adding that work would commence in about two weeks to come.

He expressed hope that when the bill on formation of vocational school he presented at the hallowed chamber scales through and becomes a law, that Abia State would be second to China in terms of manufacturing for the benefit of the people and the government.

Hon Mathias Ume, (Nwachi) further urged his people to continue to support the administration of Governor Otti which despite the economic downturn in the country has entrenched a lot of democratic dividends in the state.
