Member representing the South East on the Governing Board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Rep. Sam Onuigbo, has expressed the need for Christians to imbibe the lessons Easter such as forgiveness, obedience, and dedication to lawful engagements for better society.
Rep Onuigbo stated this in his 2024 Easter message as made available to the press today, 31st March, 2024.
The two-term member that represented Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly between 2015 and 2023, Rep Sam Onuigbo cited the Book of Luke 22:49-51 stressing that Christ forgave even His offenders while on earth. He further laid emphasis on the unconditional love, compassion as well as forgiveness exhibited by the risen Christ and urged the Christian community and others to live by such scriptural examples.
While urging adherents of the Christian faith and others to eschew unrighteousness, Rep Onuigbo who contested Abia Central Senatorial seat in the 2023 general elections believe that if the cardinal lessons from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ could be internalised by all, the fight against criminal activities would succeed.
