Gov Nwifuru Congratulates 52 Newly promoted Officers of NSCDC, Ebonyi State, Lauds Commandant

 

Governor Francis Nwifuru has congratulated 52 newly promoted and decorated officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ebonyi State Command with a charge to redouble their efforts as the reward for good work is more work.

Governor Nwifuru gave the goodwill message during the decoration ceremony of newly promoted officers with their ranks at the Commands Headquarters in Abakaliki.

He urged the them to see their new ranks as a call to greater service by intensifying efforts in protecting critical national assets and ensuring the safety of lives and property across Ebonyi State.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Grace Umezurike, the governor commended the, Commandant of the corps Francis Chika Nnadi, for his professionalism, commitment and dedication which have transformed the entire command making it a top notch.

Commandant of the NSCDC, Ebonyi Command, Commandant Francis Chika Nnadi, who said the promotions place greater responsibility on officers, announced that the command has made significant progress and has been upgraded to a “special command,” attributing the success to teamwork and support from the Commandant-General.

He also disclosed plans to establish an NSCDC clinic and a senior officers’ mess, alongside new initiatives to strengthen operations and improve personnel welfare. The NSCDC, Ebonyi Boss, assured residents of readiness to protect critical national assets and provide adequate security during upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Onah, praised the leadership for the command’s positive transformation, describing promotions as a reward for dedication.

The Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Prince Richard Idike, also commended improved security in the state, attributing it to collaboration among security agencies.

The colourful event was attended by top government officials, security chiefs, and community stakeholders, among others.
