2027: Ochiri Rallies Edda Bloc Behind Nwifuru, Pushes Unity Agenda

A prominent Ebonyi politician and businessman, Chief Julius Ama Orji popularly known as Ochiri Edda, led key stakeholders from Edda on an Easter visit to the state APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, in Abakaliki, declaring firm support for Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s second-term bid.

He pledged to mobilize support across Edda and beyond, citing the Governor’s strides in peace, education, health, infrastructure, and human capital development as reasons for continuity.

“What the Governor has done in Ebonyi State is commendable. I am particularly happy with his achievements in the areas of peace, education, health, and many others. Because of this, we all have a duty to support his re-election. I am using this opportunity to call on the people of Ebonyi State to vote massively for him when the time comes,” he said.

“I am not a sycophant. My support for the Governor is not for him to do anything for me. But I like the way he has restored peace in all parts of the state,” he added.

Focusing on Edda politics, Orji stressed the need for unity ahead of 2027, urging stakeholders to close ranks for development and empowerment.

“I am deeply concerned about peace and development in Edda. I don’t like crisis. We want peace there. I have discussed with the APC Chairman about peace, unity, and progress in our community. I want us to be united so that we can develop our place and empower our people. I want the APC Chairman to use his position and influence to midwife love and lasting peace among our people,” he stated.

Responding, the party Chairman, Chief Emegha welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed efforts to reconcile factions, revealing progress in ongoing consultations.

“The last time we met, you gave me a mandate for peace and unity. And I am happy to announce to you that 70% of the mandate has been accomplished. I have been meeting our stakeholders and leaders, visiting them in their homes individually and collectively. And we have ¹1mad,e a lot of progress. Edda must move z ß andand unity.

“Those I have not met, I will still meet them. And just as you advised, I have forgiven those who wronged me, and I ask. for forgiveness from anyone I offended in any way. What is important is that we are marching forward as one people in peace and unity,” he said.pp
