The Senior Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Comrade Sunday Nwambam, has said the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is anchored on addressing the needs of the people according to their priorities, with the aim of fostering enduring and sustainable development for generations to come.
Nwambam stated this during an inspection of projects organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ebonyi State Council, as part of activities marking its 2026 Press Week.
The governor’s aide, who was a journalist with the Radio Nigeria, Abakaliki, before his appointment, commended members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm for taking the bold step to voluntarily inspect government projects in order to obtain firsthand information rather than rely on hearsay or fabricated reports circulating on social media.
He maintained that the present administration, led by Governor Nwifuru, was people-oriented and not interested in jamboree, but committed to delivering real, feasible and tangible development to the masses who gave it the mandate to govern.
Nwambam, who oversees inter-party affairs in the state, said the government had no plan whatsoever to demolish any of its projects, but was working tirelessly to complete ongoing projects and continue implementing the People’s Charter of Needs in the interest of all residents.
He said the administration was committed to providing projects and programmes that would improve the quality of life of the people, irrespective of their age or social status.
“I cannot tell you lies. Those things are not true,” he said, while dismissing reports alleging that the government was planning to demolish some of its projects.
He urged journalists and members of the public to disregard such reports, insisting that the projects inspected were being executed to standard and were intended to provide lasting benefits to the people.
Nwambam also appealed to journalists to maintain professionalism, balance, accuracy and objectivity in their reportage, stressing the need for proper verification of information before publication.
