The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed its House of Representatives primary election for the 2027 General Elections by one day, moving it from the earlier scheduled date to Saturday, May 16, 2026.

The party, however, said dates earlier fixed for other primary elections remain unchanged.

In a statement signed on Thursday in Abuja by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party said the Senate primary will hold on Monday, May 18, while the State House of Assembly primary is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20.

According to the statement, the governorship primary will take place on Thursday, May 21, while the presidential primary is slated for Saturday, May 23, 2026.

However, the party did not give reasons for the postponement of the House of Representatives primary, but political observers believe the shift may not be unconnected to logistical and administrative challenges often associated with coordinating nationwide party primaries.
