The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Owerri Federal Constituency, of Imo State, High Chief Okey Amadi, has expressed confidence in winning landslide the 2027 general elections, declaring that he is steps ahead of his political opponents.
Amadi, a United States-based industrialist, businessman and philanthropist, made this declaration at Emekuku Town Hall in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, during a reception organised in his honour after his return from the United States.
Addressing hundreds of supporters and traditional rulers, known as Nde Oha, Amadi assured the gathering that his campaign was well organised and positioned for victory come 2027 general election.
“You are at the right place. Do not fear, as we are coming out strong and will definitely win the election,” he declared.
He urged supporters to remain peaceful, strategic and focused, stressing that political contests should be approached with intelligence rather than violence.
“Our campaigns, as you can see, have been highly organised. We have erected billboards across the constituency and fulfilled our financial obligations to the relevant authorities,” he said.
Amadi pledged to attract development projects to the constituency, prioritising healthcare, education, agriculture and youth development.
He expressed concern over inadequate access to quality healthcare and promised to improve medical services if elected.
Earlier, the convener of the reception and President of the Emekuku Ancient Town Youth Organisation, Hon. Maxwell Nlemadim, commended Amadi for honouring the invitation and urged residents to support his candidacy, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver effective representation.
In a show of acceptance, traditional custodians offered prayers, poured libations and performed traditional rites, including washing Amadi’s head and feet, to symbolise their blessings and wishes for his electoral success.
