The Minister of Works, Sen David Umahi has declared that the South East is solidly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing major federal projects and reforms as reasons for renewed support for the President and the All Progressives Congress, APC.
His remarks followed Tinubu’s victory in the 2026 APC presidential primary in Omunaga Ward, Ohaozara council area, where the President polled 5,009 votes.
Reacting to the result, Umahi praised the turnout, describing Ebonyi State as a strong APC state.
“Let Nigerians know that in Ebonyi State, it was decided by the people that there will be no markets, no burials, nothing else other than coming out in mass to demonstrate loyalty and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates. There is no other registered political party in Ohaozara. We are only APC.” He added.
On regional politics, Umahi insisted: “I have no repentance in saying that South East is for Tinubu. When people are counting the South East, they should count it for President Bola.”
He further declared: “Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the Biafra we have been looking for, a man who has integrated the South East, given us juicy appointments and important infrastructure.”
Defending Tinubu’s reforms, Umahi said: “The darkest part of the night is at dawn. We are getting to the grassroots now, and Nigerians will see the benefits of these reforms. Without them, we wouldn’t have had Nigeria by today.”
He also expressed confidence that APC candidates, including Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, will record victory in the 2027 general election.
