The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ebonyi North Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, Engr. Dr. Sunday Andre Opoke, has unveiled his vision for the zone, and promised visionary leadership, innovation and prosperity for all if elected into the Senate.
Speaking on his ambition, during the weekend in Abakakiki, the frontline candidate and f the PDP, Engr. Dr. Opoke said his mission is to provide people focused representation that will directly address the pressing needs of his zone and beyond.
According to him, his priority areas would include improving access to quality healthcare, education, water supply, mineral resources, and economic empowerment for residents across the district.
In the area of economic growth, Engr. Dr. Opoke said he plans to establish an Agricultural Processing Hub in Ebonyi North to support farmers through storage, preservation, processing and packaging of farm produce.
According to him, such initiative would not only reduce post-harvest losses but also create jobs and position the district as a major food production and processing hub in the South-East.
On education, Engr. Dr. Opoke pledged to champion policies and interventions that would improve the standard of public schools and ensure children in the district have access to quality learning opportunities for better tomorrow.
The PDP candidate also emphasized the need to leverage his international experience and network to attract development partners and foreign agencies into Ebonyi North for critical projects, especially in water, sanitation and community development.
“I have worked with international organizations like UNICEF and USAID, and I understand how to attract partnerships that can deliver real development to our people,” he said.
He also revealed plans to promote industrial development by encouraging investment in sectors linked to the district’s natural resources, particularly in mineral processing and manufacturing.
Opoke further promised to pursue road connectivity and regional trade opportunities that would strengthen Ebonyi North’s strategic position as a gateway linking different parts of the country.
Highlighting his humanitarian activities, the PDP candidate said through his Suko City Foundation, he has supported vulnerable persons through feeding programmes and educational assistance, adding that his desire to serve is rooted in a long-standing commitment to community development.
He expressed confidence that the PDP remains strong in Ebonyi and capable of delivering victory in the forthcoming election, assuring voters that his candidacy represents an opportunity for renewed hope and purposeful representation in Ebonyi North.
