The Deputy Chief Whip and Senator, representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has said his constituency projects and other interventions across the zone speak for him ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Nwebonyi stated this at the grand finale of the All Progressives Congress (APC) mega chairmanship campaign rally at Iboko, headquarters of Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Nwebonyi urged Ebonyi voters to support the APC because the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru had executed numerous people-oriented projects, hence they deserve continued support.
According to him, the governor’s achievements include road construction, Local and overseas scholarships, school projects and interventions aimed at boosting the welfare of the masses, describing the projects as sufficient grounds for APC victory in the forthcoming council polls and 2027 general elections.
Speaking on his own political achievements, Nwebonyi said that he is no longer needed to embark on extensive campaigns because his projects had become his campaign message.
“My projects are campaigning for me,” he said, listing concrete roads, streetlights, schools, support for widows, payment of hospital bills and educational assistance to indigent students among his interventions.
He said he had supported more than 900 indigent students with over N100 million in school fees and spent over N100 million on hospital bills, while also providing assistance to widows and executing infrastructure projects across Ebonyi North.
Nwebonyi also commended other National Assembly members from Ebonyi for what he described as their contributions to constituency development.
He cited Senator Kenneth Eze, Senator Anthony Ani, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, Chief Emma Uguru among other lawmakers who, according to him, had implemented various road, education and empowerment projects in their constituencies.
He described the Ebonyi APC National Assembly caucus as a “beautiful and bonded team,” expressing confidence in the party’s prospects in future elections.
