Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the development as a defining moment in Nigeria’s democratic journey and a reaffirmation of the President’s towering political influence.
In a goodwill message issued in Abakaliki on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Monday Uzor, it was stated that Tinubu’s victory at the party’s presidential primary reflects the overwhelming confidence reposed in him by party faithful and progressive-minded Nigerians across the country.
He noted that the outcome underscores the President’s decades-long political relevance, describing him as a builder of leaders, a stabiliser of democratic institutions, and a strategist whose influence cuts across all six geopolitical zones.
“It is soothing to note that over close to four decades, you have painstakingly built an invincible political fortress stretching across the federation, nurturing leaders, strengthening democratic institutions, and redefining political organisation in Nigeria with uncommon courage, strategy, and consistency,” the Governor stated.
Governor Nwifuru further paid tribute to President Tinubu’s role in Nigeria’s democratic struggle, recalling his contributions during critical periods in the nation’s political history.
“Mr President, you remain one of the few political figures whose sacrifices during the struggle for democracy have continued to shape the destiny of modern Nigeria. You stood firmly on the side of democratic freedom during some of the nation’s most turbulent political periods,” he said.
He described President Tinubu as “not merely a politician, but a movement, a national institution, and a symbol of political resilience whose legacy will endure across generations.”
Governor Nwifuru also revealed that the people of Ebonyi State across the 13 local government areas overwhelmingly supported the President during the APC primary, as a demonstration of their confidence in his leadership and national vision.
