The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has charged the incoming chairman, councillors and people of Abakaliki Local Government Area to reciprocate the gesture of Governor Francis Nwifuru by giving total loyalty and support to the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Emegha gave the charge during the APC local government campaign rally in Abakaliki, on Monday where he commended Governor Nwifuru for his commitment to the development of the state, particularly the construction and rehabilitation of roads and bridges across communities.
While urging the incoming council chairman and councillors to learn from the past, at Nkwegu Primary School field, Abakaliki, the venue of the rally, Chief Emegha ensured the masses that the administrations of Gov Nwifuru remained accessible and responsive to the needs of the people.
According to Emegha, the best way for the incoming council administration to appreciate the support of the governor and the party is to deliver victory for the APC in 2027.
He said, “The only way you can show gratitude politically is to show in 2027 that APC is 100 per cent loyal to our dear leader.”
Emegha further charged the incoming council officials to take governance to the rural areas and sustain direct engagement with citizens, stressing that they should not depend solely on political structures or individuals.
Other party leaders at the rally commended the governor for his people-oriented leadership, describing his commitment to the development of the state as outstanding and unprecedented.
The leaders and supporters from Abakaliki Local Government Area also declared their support for the APC, pledging to deliver all the party’s candidates in the forthcoming council elections and the 2027 general elections.
The APC chairmanship candidate for Abakaliki Local Government Area, Chidiebere Aloh, was subsequently presented with the party’s flag as the standard-bearer for the council election.
