The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, winner of Saturday’s governorship election.
Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes.
The results showed that Adeleke won the election with a margin of 66,252 votes.
With the declaration, Adeleke has secured another four-year term as governor of Osun State.
The returning officer, while announcing the final result, declared Adeleke duly elected after polling the highest number of votes cast in the election.
