President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed prominent South-East political leaders into key positions in the APC/Tinubu 2027 Campaign Council.

Former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, was appointed South-East Stakeholders Mobilisation Coordinator, while the Minister of Works, Senator Engr. David Nweze Umahi, was named Deputy Director-General, Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitisation.

The appointments also saw Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, emerge as Secretary of the campaign council, while Enugu State Governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, was appointed South-East Zonal Coordinator.

The appointments are expected to strengthen the campaign structure in the South-East and deepen mobilisation for President Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.

The inclusion of the four influential South-East figures is also seen as a strategic move to consolidate the administration’s political support base in the region ahead of the 2027 elections.

Their respective roles place them at the centre of the campaign’s mobilisation, infrastructure, sensitisation and stakeholder engagement efforts across the South-East and beyond.
