…Celebrates Three Years of Democratic Progress, People-Oriented Governance

The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on what it described as three years of impactful, transformational and people-centred democratic leadership.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Abakakiki to commemorate May 29 Democracy Day anniversary, the State Chairman of APC, Hon. Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, said the party joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the third anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration, praising his bold economic reforms, infrastructural development, expanded social investment programmes and renewed hope agenda.

Chief Emegha noted that the President’s courageous leadership had continued to reposition Nigeria and lay a solid foundation for national growth and transformation.

The ruling party in Ebonyi also lauded Governor Francis Nwifuru for what it termed purposeful governance anchored on the People’s Charter of Needs initiative, which he has translated into visible development across critical sectors of the state economy.

According to the statement, the Nwifuru administration has recorded remarkable achievements in the health sector through the renovation and equipping of 13 general hospitals and several primary healthcare centres, recruitment of health personnel, as well as the upward review of rural posting allowance for doctors from N150,000 to N590,000.

The party further highlighted reforms in the education sector, including the restoration of scholarship programmes, sponsorship of thousands of Ebonyi indigenes for postgraduate studies within and outside Nigeria, establishment of the Universities of ICT and Aeronautics, automatic employment for Ebonyi State University first-class graduates, increased subventions to tertiary institutions and distribution of free learning materials to students.

On workers’ welfare, APC commended Governor Nwifuru for clearing backlog of salaries, pensions and gratuities dating back to 1996, introducing same-day gratuity payments, approving salary increases, and extending teachers’ retirement age from 60 to 65 years and years of service from 30 to 35 years.

The statement added that the governor had sustained prompt payment of salaries, regular promotions for civil servants, delivery of critical road infrastructure and restoration of peace in various communities across the state.

The party Boss also described the recently conducted APC primaries in Ebonyi as the most peaceful, transparent and credible in the history of the state, noting that it reflected growing democratic maturity under the present administration.

“As Ebonyi APC, we proudly congratulate our performing leaders and reaffirm our unwavering support for their vision of a greater Nigeria and a more prosperous Ebonyi State,” the statement read.

The party prayed for continued wisdom, strength and success for both leaders in their service to the nation and the state.
