The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Nigerians on the 2026 Democracy Day celebration, describing June 12 as a historic symbol of the nation’s resilience, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to democratic governance.
In a Democracy Day message signed by the State Chairman of the party, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, the APC paid tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for what it described as his steadfast commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting national unity and advancing sustainable development across the country.
The party commended the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that its bold economic and governance reforms were laying a solid foundation for a more prosperous, inclusive and economically resilient Nigeria.
The Ebonyi APC also applauded the leadership of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, saying his administration had continued to deliver the dividends of democracy through the implementation of the People’s Charter of Needs.
According to the party, Governor Nwifuru’s people-oriented policies in healthcare, education, infrastructure, agriculture, security, youth and women empowerment, as well as workers’ welfare, have brought meaningful development and renewed hope to the people of Ebonyi State, both at home and in the diaspora.
The party maintained that democracy can only flourish where leaders govern with integrity, accountability and compassion, adding that both President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru have demonstrated these qualities through purposeful and transformative leadership.
“As Nigeria marks the 27th anniversary of Democracy Day, the Ebonyi APC reaffirms its commitment to good governance, peace and sustainable development. We urge Nigerians and the people of Ebonyi State to remain united and continue supporting our leaders in building a stronger nation and a more prosperous society for all,” the statement read.
The party wished Nigerians a happy Democracy Day and prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity for Ebonyi State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
