Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has directed contractors handling government projects to expedite work and deliver according to specifications, warning that no compromise would be tolerated.
Nwifuru gave the directive during an inspection of projects in Abakaliki, including the University of Aeronautic and Aerospace Engineering, Housing Estate Rewarding Centre, Vanco Flyover and Underground Tunnel, remodeled International Hotel and ICT University Opherekpe.
At the Aeronautic University, the governor expressed concern over the pace of work and directed the Commissioner for Tertiary Education to strengthen supervision and ensure speedy completion.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Akata Nwofe, said about 200 students had been admitted across 25 NUC-approved programmes, adding that the university would temporarily operate from the ICT University.
However , the governor also said the remodeled International Hotel had passed integrity tests and would be converted into an international-standard hotel to boost accommodation and support major events.
The governor urged private investors and Ebonyi leaders to invest properly in other to create more jobs for the youths
