Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, popularly known as Anyichuks, has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 general election in Ebonyi State.
The declaration was made by the Returning Officer, Comrade Okorie C. Okorie, at Onicha Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking at the venue, Okorie said the outcome reflected the collective decision of party members and stakeholders across the state.
“By the power conferred on me as the Returning Officer, I hereby declare Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii as the PDP consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election,” he stated.
At the party’s collation centre, the Chief Returning Officer, after collating results from various wards, announced that Dr. Odii secured a total of 8,281 votes in the party’s exercise across Ebonyi State.
Responding shortly after the declaration, Dr. Odii expressed gratitude over the confidence reposed in him by party members to fly the party’s ticket in the 2027 governorship election. He described the endorsement as a strong demonstration of trust, unity, and belief in his vision for a better Ebonyi State.
Dr. Odii assured supporters of his commitment to the ideals of the party and pledged to work tirelessly to justify the confidence placed in him. He also promised people-oriented policies and inclusive leadership aimed at improving the lives of citizens across the state.
It could be recalled that Dr. Odii contested the 2023 governorship election in Ebonyi State under the PDP and emerged first runner-up, polling over 80,000 votes behind the winner, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of the APC, while the APGA candidate came third.
