Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, has rejected the proposed rainbow coalition in Ebonyi State, and urged people of Ohanivo Federal Constituency to back the APC in the 2027 general elections by prioritizing the collective interest of Ndigbo over personal political ambitions.

Umahi made the appeal at a stakeholders’ meeting in Okposhi, Ohaozara LGA, where he charged the people to sustain the political alliance between President Bola Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.

He specifically appealed to aspirants from Okposhi to shelve their senatorial ambitions, insisting that individual interests should not undermine the broader political and developmental interests of Ebonyi State and the South-East.

“What we need is the collective interest of Ndigbo, not individual interest,” he said.

The minister declared the state’s continued commitment to the APC and maintained that the governorship should rotate among the state’s political zones, arguing that it was not yet the turn of Ebonyi South.

Meanwhile, Rainbow Coalition is a proposed 2027 political alliance associated with Nyesom Wike, aimed at mobilising cross-party support for Tinubu, while Ohanivo Federal Constituency comprises Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo Local Government Areas.
