Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru Governor, Ebonyi State
Governor’s Decision Is Final, Emegha Declares Absolute Loyalty Ahead of Polls
The Chairman, All Progressives Congress APC, Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, says the decision of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru remains final and binding on all political stakeholders.
Chief Emegha, who made the declaration during a high-level stakeholder’s (mainly Edda people) meeting held at his residence in Camp David Estate, Abakaliki also reaffirm total loyalty to the Governor and express continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of forthcoming political activities.
Chief Emegha, who recently resumed office as state chairman, expressed deep appreciation to Edda people and the wider public for their steadfast support, prayers, and sacrifices, which he credited for his return.
He stressed that the gathering was not only to show gratitude but also to consolidate unity across Edda land warning against any form of division that could undermine the area’s political strength.
According to him, the meeting attracted a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including key figures beyond the APC, reflecting a shared resolve to sustain peace, progress, and continuity in governance.
Reinforcing his stance, Emegha declared that all political actors in the area must align strictly with the Governor’s leadership direction, emphasizing that Governor Nwifuru’s decisions remain binding and unquestionable.
“In Edda, we are not entertaining unnecessary political rivalry. Our priority is continuity of good governance and unwavering support for both the Governor and the President,” he said.
He further underscored that, for now, there would be no contest for elective positions—including State Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats—until there is clear guidance from the Governor.
“The Governor’s word is final. His direction will determine our collective political path. Until then, we remain united, disciplined, and focused,” Emegha stated firmly.
While noting that the people of Edda would continue to pursue their political interests, he maintained that such ambitions must be guided by loyalty, respect, and alignment with the Governor’s vision.
The party Boss added that the stakeholders’ forum would remain a continuous platform for dialogue, consensus-building, and strengthening political stability in the area.
Describing the meeting as impactful and well-attended, he emphasized that it recorded complete unanimity, with no dissenting voices.
Also speaking, the Edda Council Chairman, Chima Presley Ekumankama, alongside Dr. Onuoha Nnachi, described the meeting as a symbolic “family gathering” that successfully fostered unity and bridged political divides ahead of the elections.
However, former Commissioner for Information, Abia Onyeike, while endorsing the unity initiative, reaffirmed his intention to contest for the Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency seat in the next electoral cycle.
