Peace, infrastructure development and people-oriented policies have propelled Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to a massive endorsement by the Ezza people for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Thousands of Ezza stakeholders, including traditional rulers, political leaders, women and youth groups, converged on Onueke in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Thursday to declare their support for the governor’s re-election.

Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Humphrey Nwobashi, described the endorsement as a mark of appreciation for a leader whose administration has delivered visible dividends of democracy to Ezza land and Ebonyi State.

Represented by his Deputy Governor, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, the Governor thanked the Ezza people for their confidence in the administration and assured them of more developmental projects.

“The governor asked me to tell Ezza people that he is happy with them. The little he has done is only the beginning. He remains committed to doing more for the people,” she said.

The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Barr. Ikeuwa Omebeh, said the endorsement reflected the people’s appreciation for the peace restored to previously troubled communities and the developmental strides of the administration.

“We have never had it so good. Before this administration, many of our communities experienced persistent crises. But since Governor Nwifuru assumed office in 2023, peace has returned to areas such as Ezza-Ezillo, Effium, Ohankwu, Abuomege, Ishinkwo and Ishiagu,” he stated.

Ezza North Council Chairperson, Mrs. Sanita Nomeh Elizabeth Ogodoali, said the governor had impacted lives through empowerment programmes, agricultural support, infrastructure and inclusive governance.

Legal practitioner, Barr. Sunday Nathaniel Nwokpoku, also commended the governor’s achievements and urged the people to sustain their support for his administration.

The rally ended with cultural displays and chants of solidarity as stakeholders renewed their commitment to Governor Nwifuru’s second-term bid in the 2027 general elections.
