The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has applauded Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for completing over 500 kilometres of roads across the state, saying the projects have opened up communities and boosted economic activities.
The State Chairman of the party, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, stated this in a goodwill message to Governor Nwifuru and the people of Izzi as they celebrated the 2026 Ojiji Izhi New Yam Festival.
Emegha said the road projects, spread across the 13 Local Government Areas, had significantly improved connectivity and made it easier for people, farm produce and goods to move between communities.
He said the development would also enhance access to markets, schools, healthcare facilities and other essential services, while creating fresh opportunities for rural dwellers.
According to him, the impact of the projects goes beyond road construction, as improved connectivity would help drive commerce, agriculture and other economic activities across the state.
The APC chairman also praised Nwifuru for using the Ojiji festival to celebrate and promote the cultural heritage of the Izzi people.
He urged the people to preserve the values handed down by their ancestors, particularly respect for elders and traditional institutions, hard work, dignity of labour, peace, unity and communal responsibility.
Emegha further called on Ebonyians to shun actions capable of threatening the peace of the state, urging political actors and their supporters to embrace tolerance and responsible engagement.
He said political differences should not be allowed to override the collective interest of the people or derail the development of the state.
The APC chairman congratulated the Izzi traditional institutions and the entire Izzi people on the Ojiji celebration, wishing them peace, prosperity and continued cultural renewal.
He expressed confidence that sustained infrastructure development and respect for the state’s cultural heritage would strengthen unity and contribute to the emergence of a more prosperous Ebonyi.
