The Peoples Democratic Party, Ebonyi State Chapter has raised alarm over alleged political intimidation and an alleged plan by the state government to revoke the Certificate of Occupancy of its state secretariat in Abakaliki ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement signed by State Chairman, Chukwuma Igwe, the party described the move as an attack on democracy and opposition politics, warning that any attempt to tamper with its secretariat would be resisted through lawful means.
The PDP accused the government of fostering political intolerance and intimidation, stressing that democracy thrives on plurality and healthy opposition.
The party also called on Bola Ahmed Tinubu, security agencies and Independent National Electoral Commission to monitor developments and prevent actions capable of undermining democracy in the state.
