Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has declared that his administration will continue to prioritise policies that guarantee inclusive education, healthcare and equal opportunities for every child in the state.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Princess Patricia Onyemechi Obila, made the declaration on Wednesday during the 2026 Children’s Day celebration held at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki.

He said no child in Ebonyi should be denied access to education, protection, nutrition, and digital opportunities because of background, disability or social status.

Speaking on the theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” Governor Nwifuru described children as the foundation of the nation’s future and charged stakeholders to protect their rights and welfare.

The governor’s wife, Mrs Uzoamaka Mary-Maudaline Ogbonna Nwifuru, also assured that the state government, through BERWO Foundation, would sustain programmes aimed at improving the welfare and development of children across the state.

The event featured colourful cultural displays, match-past by schools and presentation of awards to outstanding pupils and students.
