ABAKAKIKI – The Ebonyi State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has felicitated with the people of Izzi Local Government Area on the occasion of the 2026 Ojiji, the traditional New Yam Festival of the Izzi people.

The party described Ojiji as a significant cultural celebration that symbolises harvest, thanksgiving, unity and prosperity, while also reflecting the rich heritage, resilience and industrious spirit of the Izzi people.

In a goodwill message personally signed and made public by the State Chairman, Hon. Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, on Friday, the APC said the festival provided an opportunity for the people to celebrate the fruits of their labour, honour their ancestors, appreciate farmers and thank God for His abundant blessings.

The party particularly expressed pride that Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, whom it described as its leader, hails from the Izzi clan.

According to the APC, the governor’s administration has continued to demonstrate purposeful leadership through its focus on inclusive development, human capital advancement, infrastructure and the welfare of the people.

The party also commended the Izzi people for preserving their cultural identity and contributing significantly to peace, development and the overall progress of Ebonyi State.

The APC urged the people of Izzi to use the festival to strengthen unity, peace and communal harmony, while supporting the Nwifuru administration in its efforts to build a more prosperous Ebonyi State.

The party prayed for abundant harvests, peace, prosperity and greater opportunities for every Izzi family and wished the people a joyful 2026 Ojiji Festival.
