The Ebonyi Market Women Association has declared its total support for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the August 22, 2026 local government elections and the 2027 general elections.
The association’s President, Mrs. Patience Nwali, made the declaration while speaking with journalists during the APC campaign rally in Onueke, Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Tuesday, the second day of the party’s statewide campaign for the forthcoming council polls.
According to her, the massive turnout of market women at the rally reflected their unwavering commitment to the ruling party and its candidates at all levels.
“Whenever Ebonyi Market Women say they are with you, they are fully with you. The turnout you are witnessing since the commencement of the campaign is a clear indication that our members are ready to work for the success of all APC candidates,” she said.
Mrs. Nwali reaffirmed the association’s commitment to mobilising support for APC candidates from the grassroots to the presidency, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, in the 2027 general elections, dismissing claims that the association was aligned with any other political party.
“Our support and our votes belong only to the APC. We have adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and all APC candidates, from ward councillorship positions to higher elective offices,” she stated.
Mrs. Nwali, who is also the Chairman of Margaret Umahi International Market, Lots 2, expressed confidence that the APC would record a landslide victory in the forthcoming local government elections and assured party leaders of the continued support of market women across Ebonyi State.
