Ebonyi Assembly Screening Committee Announces Vetting of APC Aspirants
The Screening Committee for aspirants vying for seats in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly has formally announced the commencement of its screening exercise for cleared political hopefuls under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a public notice issued by the Committee Chairman, Barr. Valentine Akwuba, all aspirants who have purchased nomination forms and successfully passed the initial clearance by the party’s state leadership have been directed to appear before the panel for the official screening exercise.
The screening exercise is scheduled to hold on Sunday, May 10, 2026, by 10:00 a.m. prompt, at the Boardroom of Re-Meritona Hotel, Abakaliki. The committee emphasized punctuality and strict compliance with all required guidelines.
Barr Akwuba further advised all aspirants to come along with relevant credentials and supporting documents, noting that the exercise would be conducted under a transparent and orderly process aimed at strengthening internal democracy within the party.
According to the committee, the screening is a key step in the selection process that will help determine credible and qualified candidates ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Political observers say the screening exercise may largely be a formality aimed at avoiding post process litigation, as the aspirants are reportedly returning unopposed in their respective constituencies.
