Gov Nwifuru Hails Tinubu, Promises More Dividend on Democracy Day
The Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a true democrat, statesman, and visionary leader as the nation marks her 26th anniversary of uninterrupted democracy.
Governor Nwifuru in his anniversary message said president Tinubu has continued to demonstrate matchless commitment to the consolidation on democratic gains through the renewed hope agenda.
In a message his personally signed, the Governor said June 12 stands as a testament to the courage of the Nigerian electorate, who, through sheer resolve and unity of purpose, defied all odds to affirm that sovereignty truly belongs to the people.
Meanwhile, Governor Nwifuru used the opportunity to reiterate his resolve to consolidate on infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, economic empowerment, and human capital achievements he met on ground and solicits more support from the people.
The 15-point message reads in parts;
“Today, Ebonyi State join our compatriots across the nation in commemorating Democracy Day, a symbolic moment etched in our collective consciousness as a day of triumph, sacrifice, and the enduring will of the Nigerian people to chart their course through democratic means.
2. June 12 stands as a testament to the courage of the Nigerian electorate, who, through sheer resolve and unity of purpose, defied all odds to affirm that sovereignty truly belongs to the people. As we celebrate this historic day, I join millions of democrats in paying tribute to the heroes and heroines of our democracy, and all those who laid down their lives in pursuit of a just, free, and equitable Nigeria.
3. On this occasion, I extend my profound appreciation and heartfelt commendation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, a true democrat, statesman, and visionary leader.
4. Mr. President has continued to demonstrate matchless commitment to the consolidation of democracy, the deepening of good governance, and the entrenchment of democratic ideals and gains through the RENEWED HOPE AGENDA.
5. Under President Tinubu’s sterling leadership, our nation has witnessed deliberate and courageous efforts to reform key sectors, uphold the rule of law, promote transparency and accountability, and empower institutions to better serve the Nigerian people.
6. His policies of subsidy removal and others reflect the spirit of true federalism, national unity, and economic transformation, and for this, we remain deeply grateful. We thank him and members of the National National Assembly, the Judiciary for their collaborative efforts in sustaining an enduring democracy.
7. In Ebonyi State, we have drawn great inspiration from Mr. President’s leadership. As your Governor, I remain resolute in advancing the sacred mandate you entrusted to me through the lens of our People’s Charter of Needs Agenda.
8. This agenda is our social contract—anchored on transparency, inclusivity, justice, and equity. It reflects the aspirations of our people, and it guides every decision we take in government.
9. We are consolidating gains in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, economic empowerment, and human capital development. Our policies are designed not only to meet immediate needs but to secure a sustainable future for the next generation.
10. These efforts align squarely with democratic principles—people-centered development, inclusive participation, and equitable opportunities for all.
11. Democracy is not merely the conduct of elections; it is about governance that listens, serves, and uplifts. It is about building institutions that endure and strengthening the bond between government and the governed. That is the ethos we hold dear in Ebonyi State.
12. As we reflect on our journey and look to the future, let us renew our dedication to nation-building.
13. I urge us to remain united, peaceful, and determined to contribute our quota to the advancement of our state and our dear country Nigeria.
14. The path of democracy, though challenging, remains the most reliable route to achieving the Nigeria of our dreams.
13. On this Democracy Day, I call on all Ebonyians—at home and abroad—to support our efforts in building a prosperous Ebonyi State. I say this because we are determined to consolidate democratic gains and build a greater Ebonyi State of our dreams.

I thank most profoundly members of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ebonyi State Chapter, the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Ebonyi State Judiciary, Elders Council, Founding Fathers Forum, Nongovernmental Organizations Support Groups, and other actors in the state for their support in building a democracy that endures”.
